R.I.S.E. Program

Respectful Inclusive Supported Experience

The program offers individualized experiences for each student. Decisions regarding R.I.S.E. placement and instruction will be the result of a process of assessment and involve consultation with staff, parents and the student, when appropriate. Programming considerations are based on each student’s personal interests and willingness to participate in larger group settings.

Students in the R.I.S.E. program are supported in a classroom that focuses on literacy, numeracy, work experience, human relations and personal management. Students are included in various option classes within the school if they choose.  The skills, knowledge and attitudes developed in the program are aimed at helping to prepare students to function as independently as possible within our school and the community in which they live.
