Hockey Academy

High School Hockey Academy (5 Credits)

Schedule:

  • When: First semester
  • Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings
  • Time: 8:00 - 9:00 AM

Program Overview:
This program focuses on fine-tuning fundamental hockey skills and enhancing technical abilities. Students will engage in specialized sessions aimed at improving both individual and team play. The program includes:

  • Puck and Skating Work: Dedicated practice to sharpen puck handling and skating techniques.
  • Positional-Specific Training: Tailored coaching for ForwardsDefence, and Goalies to focus on their unique roles and skills.
  • Technical Coaching: Expertise from Sports Academy staff, including sessions on power skating and goalie coaching, to help athletes progress in their development.

Whether you’re looking to improve your overall game or focus on a specific position, this program offers a structured environment for athletes to refine their skills.

Academically students receive 5 PE credits for participating in the program as well as the opportunity to take part in training through Absolute Human Performance at St. Albert High School or earn extra credits through Sports performance.

The goal of all our Academy programs is to develop the whole athlete through physical, mental, social and spiritual training. The goals of lifelong physical literacy, social responsibility and fun are always at the forefront of our planning and programming.

Students who do not drive are transported back to school after each ice session.
